    My setup.

I only have a Yaesu FT817nd and Z817. So I run it at the Home QTH and portable. I have gotten good at setup.
Takes about 5 minutes from putting pack down to needing antenna hook up. Antenna usually take a bit longer.
Here is my set up at my in-laws house on Easter. Threw the wire into a big tree and worked several folks.

I have a back pack I put everything into. It is big enough to fit the radio kit a couple of 100ft RG8 coax's and
an end fed dipole with match box. The radio kit is here. The grey thing is my battery pack. I is designed to power 2 cell phones and a lap top at once. It has an output that is adjustable from 9v to 19 volts. I put it on 12v and it works great. It was advertized to have 30AH.

The orange thing is a camera case I use for the radio. It fits my radio, tuner, and battery perfectly. Here it is full of the kit.

This works for me, though I do wish I had other antenna options but I just haven't built them yet.

    That's a nice small kit.

    Ideal for impromptu QSOs

That battery pack is great! Can you tell me more about it, like where to get one? The battery, of course, is the heaviest part of my Go-Bag.

    Re: My setup.

I bought it at Amazon. Not cheap but is very small and fairly light. Here is the link

    OK, Steve thank you.

I found it on Amazon- that is pretty slick! Thanks for posting.
