My 17m trailer tower and portable shack. Takes about 35 minutes to set up, depending on antenna.

Trolley on the beach (MKI using a couple of radials, MKII has a ground tuning unit), great location for working VK ZL long path early mornings on 20M

With no antenna's at home I only work portable. With limited time to play I wanted to put out the best signal could when I did get the time for radio, hence when the trailer came up cheap I grabbed it with both hands hihi.

Even with a base station on wheels some of my best contacts/ DX have come from working portable from the beach with a vertical and 50w. Gets a bit cold in the winter though whereas the van has diesel cab heater in the back.

    Mike,

I guessing here, but would it be fair to say you don't get to much hassle from 'the petticoat government' when it comes to your radio gear??
