    Galleywood Common, 22nd August

Some Essex Hams will be enjoying a bit of /P just south of Chelmsford at one of our regular haunts, Galleywood Common. I'll have my FT-857, 10m pole with 40m Doublet and will no doubt be on 40m SSB mid-afternoon. Also thinking of taking the Bencher and doing a bit of dit'ing and dah'ing.

I'll almost certainly put a tweet out when we're QRV. If you're in the area, come and pay us a visit.

The weather person reckons it'll be 25'c so factor 30 and Yaesu baseball-caps are advised

    I'll be there as well.

I'm planning to put up and adjust a top loaded 80m vertical so some skeds on 80m in the early evening would be appreciated.

Put up a different pole with the 80m top hat today, and actually worked some stations on 80m this evening. (GW,SP9,PA3)

    Re: Galleywood Common, 22nd August

Really nice day yesterday, perhaps a bit too hot (knocking on the door of 28'c). Got some QSOs on 40m but mostly GI/GM and very little close inter-G. The Germans were strong, so strong that I worked one on 20m and heard another on 15m talking to a JA (whom I couldn't hear). Usually it's the other way around. We had a great afternoon and Pete M0PSX has done a write-up on Essex Ham: http://www.essexham.co.uk/news/galle...-aug-2015.html
