    Hustler mobile whips

I've recently salvaged these whips from a shack clear out but don't know much about them. I assume there should be a extension post of some sort that goes between the whip and the mount?

    I have the RM-20, RM-40 and RM-75 whips.

Has anyone used the Hustler whips before?

    Hi Matt

I started out with a Hustler antenna. The resonators mount on a 54" mast and there is also an adapter plate which allows mount 3 resonators at the same time for instant band changes.

    Thanks John.

How would you rate them for mobile ops?

I actually did pretty well with them. The 40 and 75 meter coils are fairly narrow but the 20 meter and up will usually cover the phone band without having to re-tune. I built my Bug Catcher style antenna and have not looked back. I have a whole set of resonators I need to sell at a Hamfest or online sometime soon, so maybe it will help someone get started in mobile ops.

My current "Bug Catcher" is right at a full quarter wave on 15 meters.
