I think we should add

Kit for sale
Kit wanted
Swaps and trials

A few rules...adverts MUST only be for portable ops related stuff.

Sales and want ads are obvious, but the swaps might work for paid up members only. Here we can offer or request swaps and trials, so if I have a mag loop, for example, and I know someone else wants to try one, we can arrange a "lend" etc. obviously it works on honesty so only paid up members please. Also of course it would be up to the parties to ensure it works honestly. It won't be easy. In another forum, now gone, and nothing to do with radio, we had such a forum which was accessibly only to invited members. It sounds rather exclusive, and it was, but it worked very well indeed and we often swapped and traded things worth hundreds of pounds without incident. I think FISTS gets this too, certainly in my experience, so it is possible.

Just a few thoughts

Is there a need for a section for "I'm about to go out /P" posts ?

I think we'll take a look at an ads/classifieds section once we have the awards finalised.

I'm currently working on a "Spots" system that works like a DX cluster. A bit like this - DXSummit.fi but for /P only.

Free members will be able to spot any call sign (apart from their own) who is /P by entering the call sign, frequency and a short comment. Full members will be able to do the same but will be able to "Self Spot" and select a time in the future (so they can self spot before leaving home in case they have no internet on the move). The spots will show up as a table on the "Spots" page with the newest at the top. I'll also feed that table out to a Twitter feed so members who use Twitter will get an automatic notification as soon as a new station is spotted.

For sale and wanted is a good idea as next year I will be looking for a QRP radio ;)

I couldnt help thinking that i had seen the small logo in the tab at the top somewhere before, until i realised its very similar to an electrical wholesaler's called Newey and Eyre

Electrical Supplies, Electrical Wholesalers, Electrical Equipment - Newey & Eyre

So it is!

It's not our image, it's the default favicon that comes with the forum software.

I have asked if anyone would like to have a go ad designing us a logo (here) but it looks like we don't have many graphic skilled members.

Not a lot you can do with a Favicon Matt, but what is the highest resolution you can use?

32px x 32px for a favicon.

I can create a new one once we have a logo but no one has stepped up to create one yet.

I may have a go this week once the spots system is finished.

Well ARPOC is too much to get into a 32x32 icon so unless its abbreviated to something like AP you will have to think about a small pic that sums up portable radio operation.
