New locations map and general tidy up

I've had a bit of a tidy up of the main menu bar on the website today in order to make things less cluttered. You should see that the "Spots" button and the "Resources" button have both dispersed and have been replaced by a "Tools" button.

You will also notice a new menu item titled "Locations". The ARPOC locations system lets members add new markers to the map and provide details of /P sites so that visitors to the area can see where to operate. Take a look at some of the existing markers then add some of your own to help other /P operators find great locations.

As always, any thoughts or feedback is appreciated.

I clicked on Locations....

Good stuff. Thanks for letting me know. There is only so much testing I can do by myself!

Matt,
Great job on the locations map, superb.
But as I accessed it via my iPad, I immediately realised I couldn't do any updates as I have no right click function!
Now, I can wait until I get home, but would it be possible to code for 'smart screen' devices, say 'a long press' to open a dialogue box to drop a pin?
People may be more inclined to drop a pin whilst at a site using their pocket smart device especially if the map defaulted to their device location using the inbuilt GPS/cell site location!
Feel free to totally ignore! lol.

No problem Ian.

I'll look into how to add a marker using a tablet or touch screen.

I've turned the page off whilst I play with it and will post back here when it's done.

I've added a function that should help add a pin on a mobile/tablet.

Press and hold where you want to place the pin. Hold for around 10 seconds and it should place a pin on the map for you.

When you post a new location, the system creates a new thread in a special forum that also contains a link back to the location on the map. The forum is so that other members can leave comments or ask questions about the location.
